Villagers honour 4-yr-old with Princess Day 20th Jun 2008

Community fundraising has given a four-year-old cancer sufferer the chance to wear a princess dress for a day.
East Bergholt local newspaper the Gazette reported that Emily Woodend, who loves fairytale dresses like Cinderella's, is being honoured with a Princess Day at Hedingham Castle, organised by the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The toddler has battled with an aggressive cancer and despite removing the tumor in 2006, the disease reappeared last year.
Her father Phil told the newspaper that Emily had been well up until October and that despite receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy, her condition is getting worse.
Villagers are donating money towards sending the whole family on holiday, although Emily cannot travel abroad.
"As a village, they felt they should raise money to send us all on holiday," explained Mr Woodend. "It is just a matter of days now. We are not sure how long but we are hoping to bring her wish day forward."
The Make-a-Wish Foundation is a UK charity which aims to grant 21 wishes to children with life-threatening conditions every week by 2010.
