Peter Pan-themed children's fancy dress 20th Jun 2008
Children could have picked a fairy dress, a pirate outfit or a costume crocodile for last week's well dressing ceremony in the village of Horsley Woodhouse.
Youngsters from Horsley Woodhouse Primary School chose Peter Pan as their children's fancy dress theme, reports the Ripley and Heanor News.
The characters all took part in a procession down Main Street from the school to the well near the post office, to display their outfits.
Headteacher Hilary Shipley told the newspaper that all pupils were involved in the children's fancy dress event, and took part in a colouring competition to decide the final design for the well dressing, which was also Peter Pan-themed.
"It all went brilliantly, everybody worked really hard at it all," she said. "It's important that the children get involved because it's a community event."
The blessing ceremony was led by local Labour MP Eric Lancashire, the publication stated.
