Fairy crafts day 'a success despite the rain' 24th Jun 2008
Bad weather was not enough to put off lots of children in fairy dress, reports the Burton Mail.
The village of Tutbury was overrun by children - many wearing a fairy dress - enjoying fairy crafts over the weekend for the third annual mid-summer Fairy Party.
Organised by The Fairy Shop and held at Richard Wakefield School, the event helped raise money for a number of charities including When You Wish Upon a Star and Me and Dee - both of which had stalls on the day.
The Fairy Shop's Suzie Lytton-Wood told the newspaper that 180 children turned up to the fun day.
"It poured with rain all day long but we still had a great day," she said. "We will keep on doing the event as we want to inject a bit of magic into the children's lives."
InBurton.co.uk stated that the event included a grand opening parade, balloon race, face-painting and fairy queen's banquet.
