A mother who lost her daughter to a spinal disease wore a fairy dress in memory on Sunday (June 22nd).
Val Conway organised the "fairy fun-run" to raise funds to tackle spina bifida, which took the life of her daughter Susie seven years ago, reports north Wales newspaper the Daily Post.
Joined by friend and supporters - also wearing fairy dress outfits - Val ran from Llandudno Prom bandstand on North Shore to Llandudno Pier.
A Sunshine Walk was held between the bandstand and Craig Y Don paddling pool later in the day, the newspaper adds.
The event marked the 40th anniversary of the Spina Bifida Association.
In Scotland, the Rendall family also wore fancy dress outfits to raise money for the charity, reports the Edinburgh News.
They took part in the six-mile Great Scottish Walk on Sunday, all wearing superhero outfits.
According to the Scotsman, about 6,000 people participated.
